RDA President Benedikt Esser spoke plain language in an interview with MDR AKTUELL. He pointed out the existentially threatening situation of bus and group tourism due to the Corona crisis and emphatically demanded non-repayable subsidies from the state.

"The coach is systemically relevant for mobility in town and country, both in Germany and in Europe. Without the coach, the reconstruction of European tourism is not possible.

The coach is the number one climate protector, but at the moment our coaches are standing still. However, the costs are still running. The state must help us now. The aid and loans we have received so far are not enough. We urgently need non-repayable subsidies and these must come quickly from the government so that things can continue", emphasises Esser.
