RDA member and RDA Group Travel Expo exhibitor, Alanna Kite, is absolutely delighted that a Visit Kent member company, The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Kent (UK), has been awarded “Coach Friendly” status by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) UK. EACT member, CPT UK only awards this status to attractions and locations across the UK that understand the needs of coach companies and their passengers and offer the best facilities, access and information for coach drivers.

Impressive new visitor facilities in The Historic Dockyard Chatham not only include a restaurant that can cater exclusively for group lunches, but a new shopping experience, four new immersive galleries and free coach parking with dedicated drop-off and collection points close to the visitor entrance.
Group visits can be tailored to each group’s requirements by working with a dedicated group sales department. Itineraries include guided visits of the historic dockyard site, either walking or on-board a group’s own coach, allowing visiting groups to discover maritime history through buildings, architecture, ships and people. This can also be combined with an exclusive Afternoon Tea in the Commissioner’s House.

Many more group opportunities are also available, such as 'Crash out on Cavalier’, where young explorers can sleep in real ship bunks on ‘HMS Cavalier’ to experience what life was like on-board or packages for language schools that offer a rich resource for students hoping to discover more about British maritime history and culture or merely to brush up on English language skills.
