66th RDA Annual General Meeting on 19th April 2017 in Friedrichshafen, Germany

The 66th RDA Annual General Meeting took place on 19th April 2017 in Friedrichshafen on scenic lake constance, Germany. This is were important future-oriented decisions were made. After 15 years of presidency, Richard Eberhardt withdrew from his position as RDA-President. The AGM elected a new president as well as further board members and decided about the use of the financial resources and the activities of the federation.

The RDA AGM elected the former Vicepresident Benedikt Esser to become the new president of the RDA International Coach Tourism Federation. Esser emphasized that the trade-only exhibitions in Cologne and Friedrichshafen are vital to the RDA. In regards to political matters, he identifies a special need for action concerning the trade tax addition. He would also like to avoid duplication of effort of the different federations and to reinforce the co-operation between the federations. Furthermore, the expansion of the portfolio of the RDA-Academy is on his agenda.

Moreover, Dr. Ulrich Basteck, Wörlitz Tourist, was elected as Vice-President. RDA treasurer, Bernhard Kirschbaum, stood as a candidate again and was reelected as RDA treasurer. Marco Schuy, Schuy Exclusiv Reisen Limburg, and Anna Marx, Narx Reisen Fridolfing, were elected to the board as new members.

At the end of the AGM, Konrad Behringer made the proposal to elect Richard Eberhardt as honorary president. This proposal was accepted by the AGM with standing ovations.

Following the AGM, there was the kick-off event for the RDA Group Travel Expo 2017 in Friedrichshafen. There were numerous new exhibitors present in Friedrichshafen in order to present their offers and innovations to the trade visitors.
