More singles in Germany than ever before

More and more people in Germany are living alone than ever before according to figures recently released by the German Statistics Office. The figure rose from 16.5 million in 2007 to 17 million in 2008, tendency rising. The increase in the number of men living alone is highest: 63 per cent of men living alone are unmarried / single, 37 per cent of women. 43 per cent of women living alone are widowed while only 11 per cent of men living alone are widowers. These are important statistics for coach tourism suppliers and operators because German coach holidaymakers are primarily seniors and display a high single and widowed component. These are customers with very specific needs and requirements which have to be observed when you are planning, organising and delivering coach holiday travel.
