American Bus Association

The American Bus Association, the trade association of the intercity bus industry, represents the coach industry's interests in Washington, D.C. It also facilitates relationships between American coach and tour companies and all related segments of the travel and supplier industries and promotes travel by coach to consumers. ABA represents approximately 950 coach and tour companies in the United States and Canada.

ASTAG Schweizerischer Nutzfahrzeugverband (Swiss Goods Vehicles Association)

The ASTAG emerged from the Verband Schweizerischer Motorlastwagenbesitzer, ASPA (Swiss Lorry Owners Association), established in 1929 and the Treuhandverband des Autotransportgewerbes, TAG (Auto Industry Transport Trust) in 1979. ASTAG has 4,400 members in 18 sections. Its Head Office is located in the Swiss capital Bern.

AvD – Automobilclub von Deutschland (German Automobile Club)

BTW – Bundesverband der Deutschen Tourismuswirtschaft e.V. (German Federal Tourism Federation)

The BTW is an umbrella organisation and spokesperson for the tourism industry in Germany. bdo – Bundesverband Deutscher Omnibusunternehmer e.V. (German Bus and Coach Operators Federation)

The bdo is an umbrella body for the diverse German State Coach and Bus Operators Federations. It represents the business-political interests of the privately-owned German coach industry at national and international levels. The RDA works with the bdo in various committees. Both federations have a mutual collaboration agreement.

BVGD - Bundesverband der Gästeführer in Deutschland e.V. (Federal Association of Tourist Guides in Germany)

The BVGD – Federal Association of Tourist Guides in Germany is the umbrella organization of local tourist guide organizations in Germany, representing approximately 5,200 tourist guides (as of September 2011). The association safeguards the interests of its members at the national level and participates in tourism panels in Germany and on the European level. In order to assure and improve the quality of tourist guides, the association has developed a schooling concept based on European standard EN 15565, which awards the BVGD certificate DIN EN.
The BVGD is a member organization of the RDA.

CPT – Conferation of Passenger Transport UK

The Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT) is recognised by the UK Government as the voice of the coach, bus and light rail industries and is the focus for consultation and negotiation on national and international legislation, local regulations, operational practices and engineering standards.

DEHOGA – Deutscher Hotel- und Gaststättenverband e.V. (German Hotels and Restaurants Federation)

The Federal DEHOGA federation is divided into 17 State Federations and three trade federations: German Hotel Federation (IHA), Union of Autobahn Service Station Tenants (UNIPAS) and Federation of International Caterers in Germany (V.I.C.). DEHOGA members’ specialist needs are looked after by four expert departments: System Catering, Social Catering, Railway Station Catering and Discotheques.

DRV – Deutscher ReiseVerband e.V. (German Tour Operators and Travel Agents Federation)

The DRV represents the interests of medium-sized and large companies engaged in the travel business vis-à-vis national and international suppliers and vis-à-vis national, European and international politics. It was founded in 1950 in Frankfurt on the Main and is the largest organisation representing tour operators and travel agents in Germany. The RDA is a co-operative DRV member and is represented in varying committees and in the DRV Board.

DTV – Deutscher Tourismusverband e.V. (German Tourism Federation)

German tourism organisations in the Federal States are organised in the DTV together with more than 6,000 tourism relevant towns, cities and communes. The DTV is a trade federation representing the interests of public-owned tourism. It engages in all areas that have to do with “Holidays and Travel” within Germany.
The RDA is a co-operative DTV member and is represented in the Transport Committee.

DVWG – Deutsche Verkehrswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft e.V. (German Transport Science Society)

The DVWG is a union of scientists, practitioners and interested persons from diverse fields of transportation. The society has 3,500 individual and corporate members drawn from the transport business, transport science, industry, trade, federations and transport authorities. The society’s aim is to promote transport science in all fields.

DZT – Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e.V. (German National Tourist Office)

The DZT promotes tourism to and domestic tourism within Germany on behalf of the Federal German Government. Its strategic foundation is demand-based marketing of nationwide holiday themes in Germany.
The RDA is a DZT member and is represented with by the RDA “Coach Tourism Aisle” at the German Travel Mart (GTM). It also works with the DZT at the ITB Berlin and the RDA-Workshop.

FUR – Forschungsgemeinschaft Urlaub und Reisen e.V. (Research Society on Holidays and Travel)

The FUR was established in 1994 to promote and enable neutral, cross-branch and continual examination of travel behaviour in Germany. The FUR is the largest non-commercial organisation and commissioner of tourism research. The RDA, as a founding member, is represented on the FUR Board and in various FUR planning groups.

gbk – Gütegemeinschaft Buskomfort e.V. (Coach Quality Association)

The gbk awards and controls the stars of the RAL quality symbol. Its most important task is to oversee neutral examination of quality standards. The RDA is a founding member. The RDA and gbk concluded the “Frankfurt Agreement” on 19th December 2007. This agreement covers RDA / gbk co-operation within institutional structures that offer a division of work responsibilities and concrete advantages for RDA and gbk members. The gbk is an associate RDA member. Gbk members who are not already RDA members are represented in the new RDA A4 membership category.

MUISZ – Association of Hungarian Travel Agents and Tour Operators

MUISZ was established in 1974. At present there are approximately 1,150 registered and legally operating travel enterprises in Hungary. Some 250 of these companies are MUISZ members. These handle over 85 per cent of the total turnover of organized travel in Hungary. The industry has undergone specialisation with companies specializing in certain destinations, inbound or outbound traffic. MUISZ is an RDA member.

The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation

The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation (BR) is the trade organisation of the professional bus and coach industry in Sweden. The federation has about 500 member companies with approximately 11,000 buses and coaches and 25,000 employees, representing 85 per cent of the total industry. The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation is an RDA member.
